Luca Lounge, started by the DiTomaso family, was established in 1997 as one of the pioneers of Alphabet City. As the neighborhood has grown and developed, it has become known for its cozy family feel (original oil paintings by Rocco DiTomaso hang throughout the dining room) its excellent pizza (featured in Food Network Specials with celeb chef Bobby Flay), its appeal as a hot summer spot with sangria pitchers and a gorgeous back garden (voted New York's Best Garden by AOL Citysearch in 2006), and for its great party venue--a huge, rustic lounge which can accomodate parties of up to 150 people.
